Some of my favorite beings...

Some of my favorite beings are not human. This is Mabel, asleep at the wheel.  Mabel has a Twitter site called Trafficat! for reporting the flow of traffic through downtown St. Peter, but obviously, she sometimes cat-naps.

While Mabel is currently my favorite non-human sentient being, I recently befriended Jack.

Jack is a quarter horse.  He lives near Henderson, Minn at a therapeutic riding center where he provides opportunities for people with disabilities, at-risk youth, and people of all ages and riding abilities, to enjoy the benefits of grooming and riding horses.

A St. Peter Community Education group riding class for adults begins September 16, and a LeSueur Community Education child and youth horse camp begins September 22. Both groups meet once per week for three weeks at Agapé Riding Center located on six acres northeast of Henderson at 24474 361st Ave. The Center is open to the public by appointment.

UPDATE:  The Riding Center closed.
